Apple of My Eye
(2023) – Watercolor & color pencil, 15″ x 11″
This work interprets the phrase “apple of my eye” literally with an apple floating within my eye. The Baltimore oriole, lover of fruit, substitutes as the body for my eye. Filling the background with various patterns and a flock of Baltimore orioles in flight, I aimed to enhance the panic created in having an apple appear within one’s vision.
